With the schools out for the summer holidays, it can be daunting to find some easy activities.
Here at Church farm kitchen, Charlie & Alex have been baking with their 12 and 5 year old and can recommend the following:
This biscuit is a mixture of a brownie and a cookie brought together, two of most peoples favourite sweet treats. Needing only an egg, butter and milk, you were guaranteed to already have everything you needed.
Fairly easy and certainly a fun twist to make. Perhaps a bit dry but nothing that a cup of tea cant fix.
This was wonderful find in our localB&M store! A delicious cookie with a marshmallow centre sounded extremely fun for our kids. This does need the use of an electric mixer, which certainly provided a bit more fun our 12 year old daughter.
Very tasty, our marshmallow ratio was perhaps inconsistent so will just have to try again.
Although not always a child’s favourite flavour, I thought us adults deserved some treats too! To make it fun, we made these into cupcakes that the children could ice and add sprinkles using TescoFinest Sicillian lemon frosting.
This takes more ingredients with 3 eggs and vegetable oil – so check you have everything at home first!
Seeing as I’m not a cupcake fan, I certainly devoured 2. And as for the children’s Grandad, well let’s just say no crumbs on the plate were found!
This may be the winning recipe. With two eggs, meant no wars on which child got to crack it. Then just some simple oil and water and the mix looked divine. This box goes a step further and even provides you with a cardboard tray to put the mixture in – meaning less washing up! Olivia made these for pony club camp, and none returned!
