What to expect from a true, bespoke, handcrafted joinery kitchen.

The idea of a handcrafted kitchen sometimes seems costly compared to the off the shelf versions, with many seemingly no different. Here we explore what extra value you can expect from a bespoke fitted joinery kitchen, how to spot the difference and why this is a growing trend in all kinds of kitchen spaces.

1.     Bespoke cabinet sizing

Working with truly tailored kitchens, means it comes with truly tailored sizing. No more using fillers, or an extra cupboard put it to just make the run ‘fit’. Joinery kitchens can make doors and drawers in all sizes, making sure the space works for you, and not you working around the space. There are honestly no limits, even our curved larders in the showroom are 938mm wide! We find many listed buildings that are full of character do need furniture that are sympathetic to their walls and floor sizing.

2.     Local joinery shop

It is common for most kitchen suppliers who create their own kitchen designs to have their joinery shop local, or on the same site. This means they get every piece perfect for your space. Here at Church Farm Kitchens & Joinery, we ensure that our joiners who will be trusted to make your kitchen will visit your home before they start to build your kitchen as it allows them to understand the space. It also gives our client a chance to meet the team that will be turning your dream kitchen into reality.

3.     Variety of kitchen doors design

Having your own joinery shop to create beautiful kitchens gives endless opportunities, and one is offering flexibility on your door style. We have samples in the showroom for our clients to consider, but it also allows for any changes or additions to create that perfect look for your home. You may find you have a  piece of current furniture or décor that you want to blend into the design, which can be achieved.

4.     Wood match

We are meticulous with where we source our wood from, using a family run company Latham’s who only use FSC timber. Having the wood delivered straight to a workshop means not only it gets checked for quality, but also when we put the frames and doors together, we ensure that the grains flow together resulting in a beautifully put together door.

5.     End panels

End panels are used to finish off a run of units, and often appear at each end. When created in a joinery workshop, you can achieve a look that has no end panels, making the furniture look seamless fitted, and run beautifully into the walls. However, there are times when an end panel will be on show, in this case a joinery kitchen can go a step further and join the end panel with the kitchen frame, to give a smoother, sleeker finish.
